Resolved Question: Should Michael Bay take a lesson from James Cameron in making action films with depth? Whenever James Cameron makes action films it seems like he is always able to weave an emotional story of tragedy into the script that makes the viewers cry and cheer at the same time, whereas when Michael Bay makes an action film all that seems to matter is having the volume up extra loud for all the carnage scenes whereas the characters never express enough meaningful emotion to make the viewers care what happens to them. So it’s a bunch of wild cheering throughout for ever explosion or gunshot. I think that says something about the quality of the acting or lack of it. Cameron seems to do a better job than Bay of getting the most out of his acting staff. Still, both of them are now known for their films being huge money makers! Among them are “Titanic” and “Aliens” for Cameron and “Bad Boys II” and “Transformers” for Michael Bay.
