Open Question: Should I be worried? My teenage son has Cher, Madonna, Britney Spears and Barbra Streisand CDs in his room…? I found them when I was snooping. Is he gay???
Voting Question: Piano Methods question? Piano Majors and Teachers, help? So I bought Czerny and borrowed Cramer. I bought “First lessons for Piano” and “Art of Finger Dexterity” by Czerny and the selected 50 Etudes published by G. Schirmer. I’ve been struggling reading music (yes, I can play the Nocturne Op. 9 no. 2, Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement and Valse Op. 64 no. 1, but I find it hard to read some simple pieces, like Sonatina in G which took me a whole day to “decode” if that’s what you term it).
If you would assess me, here was my situation.
When I was learning the Nocturne, it took me about 2 or 3 weeks to decipher, with some playing-by-ear-when-I-was-note-ignorant help (yes, I played the A theme of that ABABAC… music). Then the 1st movement of the Moonlight Sonata was actually pretty easy that I finished playing it almost at a tempo in a day. I just had to bring it for a two-week refurbishing and that’s when I learned the “legato by portamento” technique. Then the Czardas for two pianos (I sight read on our first lesson because of our exams, but it turned out great, I think)….

Resolved Question: Not-sappy romantic/love songs for a guy? I’ve been searching for the longest time and I can’t find anything. They’re all so girly and weak lol. One time someone recommended me a Barbra Streisand song and that wasnt gonna work out at all lol
I’ll give you guys an example of some of the songs/bands ive liked: iou one galaxy- the ataris satellite – oceanlab journey – midnight train datA – rapture sublime- santeria dj shah, depeche mode, sublime, the killers, mastodon, etc also cumbia, duranguense, reggaeton and bachata. glam rock, 80s new wave, trance, death metal, etc…
i dislike things like jason mraz and john mayer, michael buble, etc 
Resolved Question: Minute Waltz Question? Okay . . . So I saw this video of Barbra Streisand singing Chopin’s Op. 64 no. 1, though I think it is a whole step higher.
I like to learn this but does the waltz have technical difficulty? except for speed of course (I heard tons of interpretations after Barbra Streisand sang it) and the D flat scale.

Well, I have my lessons once a week. My first lesson was music theory the jumped off to a simplified version of Ballad for Adeline by Paul de Senneville. Then Fur Elise, then Croatian Rhapsody, then moving to Nocturne Op. 9 no. 2 (using about 3 or 4 sessions to play it a tempo) and Moonlight Sonata (about 2 lessons to play it a tempo). Now I’m learning the two piano version of Czardas by Vittorio Monti (Here’s the midi file played. I did it myself so I can practice with the 1st Piano. I play the orange and the blue ones).
